Let the overstuffed bingewatching begin!
It’s as part of the festive period as stockings, sprouts, Santa and the Queen’s Speech – Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without slobbing about with a stomach full of turkey watching your favourite shows.
Except these days, it’s less a case of gorging on whatever the terrestrial channels throw up, and more about going a la carte with a seemingly endless choice of programming on streaming sites such as Amazon Prime, Netflix and BBC iPlayer.
And now, especially for the final weeks of the year, Netflix are adding some stellar new titles to their roster – from huge blockbusters to critically acclaimed productions.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Season 3) – Dec 19
Finally we can get to see who appears from the lift to replace Captain Ray Holt at the 99th Precinct of the New York City Police Department in Brooklyn.
A Most Violent Year – Dec 20
Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain star in the critically-acclaimed gangster flick set in 1981 –Â one of the most violent years in New York’s history.
On the Waterfront – Dec 21
Elia Kazan’s film noir masterpiece stars Marlon Brando as an ex-prize fighter turned longshoreman who struggles to stand up to his corrupt union bosses.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Dec 22
The second instalment in the trilogy sees Katniss become a target of the Capitol after her victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion.
Iron Man 3 – Dec 25
A biggie for Christmas Day. Robert Downey Jr returns as Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. Yes please…
Green Room – Dec 27
A tense, unsettling thriller about a punk rock band that’s forced to fight for survival after witnessing a murder at a neo-Nazi. Cheery stuff starring Patrick Stewart.
The Clan – Dec 30
This incredible piece of Argentine cinema tells the real-life story of a family from Buenos Aires who kidnapped four people -three of whom they murdered- in the 1980s.

The Hunt for the Wilderpeople – Dec 31
Along with The Clan, this is one of our favourite movies of the year – but for very different reasons. Julian Dennison and Sam Neill are wonderful in the lead roles.
