Real Madrid star Toni Kroos posted a New Year message to his Twitter followers that caused quite a storm among fans of Germany and Brazil:

It is of course a reference to the 2014 World Cup semi-final when Germany humiliated Brazil on their own turf, winning 7-1 on their way to lifting the trophy that year.
It got 170,000 retweets as his German fans loved it – and his Brazilian followers felt exactly the opposite. But perhaps he wasn’t expecting it to blow up in quite the manner it did.
A lot of attention for a little joke😀 Wish you all a safe and happy new year!

But today Brazil legend (or if you prefer ‘Original’) Ronaldo hit back with a message of his own:
This version – in which he tags Kroos – is a reference to the 2002 World Cup final when Ronaldo and co saw off Germany 2-0 to lift the trophy.
So let’s call that 1-1 then boys, shall we?
