Eastenders legend to get own tribute show

It shouldn't be missed

Rebecca Keane

She well and truly deserves it.

Earlier this week, there were seriously tragic scenes in Albert Square when a bus crashed into the Queen Victoria pub, leaving many residents fearing for their lives.

The bus crash left viewers with tonnes of questions about who potentially did it , with many fingers pointing to one character who has recently returned to the area of Walford.

Aside from all doom and gloom onscreen, one actress who is being honoured for her services on the show is actress June Brown, aka much-loved character Dot Cotton on the soap.

According to Digital SpyJune Brown will be paid homage to in a one-off special, a tribute show called June Brown At 90 – A Walford Legend.

June Brown first appeared on the long-running soap all the way back in 1985, starring as a wife to Charlie Cotton.

The show will discuss June’s early days on the BBC One soap, speaking about how the character of Dot developed and reminiscing on the storylines Dot has faced in her lifetime.

Tributes from Eastenders actors will be made by Danny Dyer (Mick Carter), Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Beale), Rudolph Walker (Patrick Trueman), Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater) and Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler).

If it’s anything like her brilliant interview on Graham Norton a few years back, it’s definitely a programme not worth missing.
