A passionate goal celebration led to both managers receiving red cards at John Smith’s stadium on Sunday.
A late, late winner from Michael Hefele secured a huge win for Huddersfield over Leeds United, sending them above their bitter rivals to fourth in the Championship.
No one in the ground enjoyed the dramatic goal more than David Wagner. The Huddersfield boss’ immediate reaction to the finish was to sprint full speed out of his technical area and half the length of the pitch to jump into a huddle with his players.

After the celebration had calmed down slightly, Wagner jogged back to his technical area. However, on the way he barged into opposite number Garry Monk.
Then, out of nowhere, all hell broke loose.
A full-on melee broke out with everyone getting involved including players. Huddersfield’s Elias Kachunga and Pontus Jansson of Leeds were shown yellow cards for joining in while Wagner and Monk both received red cards for their involvement.

And just when you thought the dust had settled, when there couldn’t possibly be any more drama, that everyone watching the game had already seen all they were going to see, the post-match interview happened.
Passions were still clearly running high as match-winner Hefele dropped the f-bomb on live TV, sparking a horribly cringy reaction from the reporter who ordered him to apologise.
This game had everything, there was even some football too!
