Hats off to FOX Sports for putting together this incredible chronological explanation for how Tom Brady’s Super Bowl LI jersey was stolen.
You may remember that last month saw one of the greatest sporting comebacks in one of the year’s most unmissable sporting events when the New England Patriots claimed Super Bowl glory by overturning a 25-point deficit against the Atlanta Falcons.
It was a turnaround for the ages and one which saw everyone involved want a token to remember it by.
That’s what made it so distressing to learn that the jersey worn by the game’s MVP, the Patriots’ quarter-back Tom Brady, had seemingly been stolen amid the understandably raucous celebrations that followed.

“It is going to be on eBay soon, I guess,” a visibly upset Brady said of his missing jersey.
But if you thought that the search for the piece of sporting history was going to end after an unsuccessful glance around the locker room, you’d be wrong because the jersey has been uncovered… In Mexico of all places.
CNN reported that the jersey was found in the home of Mauricio Ortega, an executive of Mexican outlet Diario La Prensa, on March 12, after a raid on his home by the FBI and Mexico’s federal police resulted in the discovery.
Interestingly, the search also uncovered the jersey Brady sported in 2015 when the Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl XLIX.

The NFL issued the above statement saying the “items were found in the possession of a credentialed member of the international media.”
La Prensa, a Mexican tabloid, have since released a statement confirming Ortega’s resignation.
And it seems like we can now see how the whole robbery went down thanks to the eagle-eyed folks over at FOX Sports who have put together a tremendous video showing how Ortega managed to gain entry in the Patriots’ locker room and behaved suspiciously before leaving promptly with an item of clothing under his left arm.

TMZ Sports report that the asking price for the shirt was a whopping $75,000, with such a high pricetag being commanded due to the fact that Brady is the first quarterback to win five Super Bowl titles.
What a crazy story!
