Who doesn’t enjoy a brilliant comeback?
Manchester United in ’99, Liverpool in ’05 – fighting back from the brink of defeat is the stuff of sporting legend.
While Borussia Dortmund’s recovery on Thursday may not rank alongside those two feats, they still produced a remarkable turnaround against Norway’s Odd Grenland in the Europa League.
The German club found themselves 3-0 down after just 22 minutes as Odd looked set to spring a shock result.
However, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s strike reduced the deficit, before the forward’s second – plus goals from Shinji Kagawa and Henrikh Mkhitarayan – secured a 4-3 win.
The result will no doubt have come as a big relief for new Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel…
