Ahead of Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with city rivals Atletico on Saturday afternoon, Cristiano Ronaldo managed to inadvertently terrify the young mascot who walked beside him out on to the Bernabeu pitch.
Having walked out of the players’ tunnel with the youngster, Ronaldo lets go of her hand as he crosses the white line of the pitch, quickly pumping his legs before leaping into the air. Clearly not expecting this, the startled girl can be seen backing away from the Portuguese captain for a split second.

Still not quite as terrifying as that statue, mind.
Real took the lead in the game courtesy of Pepe, who was later taken off with broken ribs. Although the home side continued to dominate possession, they failed to test Jan Oblak in the Atleti goal.
With five minutes to go, Antoine Griezmann drew the visitors level after getting on the end of Angel Correa’s through ball.
Although conceding a late equaliser would’ve been disappointing for Real, it actually extended their lead at the top of La Liga. The draw leaves Zinedine Zidane’s men three points clear of second placed Barcelona, who suffered a defeat to Malaga in a game in which Neymar was sent off for a second bookable offence. Real also have a game in hand on their great rivals.
