Much like fellow Scandinavian Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Nicklas Bendtner has never had any issues with his self confidence… even if his performances on the football field haven’t always hit the same kind of heights as the Manchester United striker’s.
The former Arsenal and Nottingham Forest striker, now plying his trade in Norway with Rosenborg, has been commonly referred to as ‘Lord’ Bendtner during his career – a tribute to his unshakable belief in his own abilities.
Now though, it seems Bendtner has ditched his ‘Lord’ nickname in favour of a new, equally (if not more) important-sounding title. The 29-year-old has now been christened as ‘The Emperor’ by his new Rosenborg teammates.
Having moved to the club at the start of March, this was confirmed by teammate Pal Andre Helland when speaking to Norwegian outlet, Nettavisen.
Bendtner moved to Norway despite inking a two-year deal with Nottingham Forest as recently as last September. He has also had loan spells with Sunderland and Birmingham City while on the payroll at Arsenal. He was also loaned out to Juventus in Italy before spending two years with Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
