The new trailer for Stephen King’s The Mist is a terrifying treat for horror fans

Paul Moore

This really isn’t for the faint of heart.

A few weeks ago, we bought you the very first footage from the new TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist and we’re delighted to say that the latest trailer has seriously revved up the tension and gore.

With horror making a massive impact on TV with shows like The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Bates Motel and The Strain all finding an audience, now is the perfect time for Stephen King’s beloved novella to make its small screen debut.

In case you haven’t read the book or seen the film, The Mist centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime.

As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world and, in some cases, each other. Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.

In the latest footage, it’s clear that the creators won’t be toning down the gore factor because there’s plenty of squeamish delights on offer here.

The Mist premieres Thursday, June 22nd on Spike.

Take a look.
