Cristiano Ronaldo’s scheduled appearance in London this weekend has been postponed.

In the wake of Monday’s Manchester Arena attack, Ronaldo has decided against travelling to the nation’s capital for his promotional event for training equipment brand SIXPAD.

The event, scheduled to take place at the InterContinental Hotel on Saturday, will now be rescheduled for a later date.

In a statement, SIXPAD said: “Following the upgrading of the UK’s terror threat, it is with regret that we have had to postpone Saturday’s public appearances with Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Safety is of paramount importance and given the high profile and public nature of this event we’ve taken the tough decision to postpone all activity until a later date.”

Ronaldo posted the below message in solidarity with those affected by the tragedy earlier this week which claimed the lives of 22 people and injured 120 others.

Several scares and false alarms have occurred since Monday’s attack, which took place after an Ariana Grande concert, and security measures have since been boosted across the nation’s big cities.
