Democracy is a beautiful thing. Grown men fighting at polling stations is not.
Most polling stations are peaceful and serene, the only noise being the sound of pencils on ballot sheets. Unfortunately, there was rather a lot more happening outside this polling station in Cumbria.
Liberal Democrats leader Tim Farron was inside casting his vote, with a small media gathering outside waiting to take pictures and film. Camera operators sometimes have to jostle for position to get a good shot, but it rarely gets much worse than that.
In this case, two people got rather more animated than that, pushing and shoving each other, with one pulling the other down to the floor.

Caught on camera, a commentator can be heard saying, “A man just nearly tripped up.”
“He’s done it again. What’s going on?” she says as the brawl gets more intense. “They’re having a proper scrap!”
Oh dear.
