There’s a no tongue rule that is almost universally observed by couples when they’re announced husband and wife.
Nobody wants to see the happy couple attempt to eat each other at the altar before dinner is served.
Lionel Messi must not have received the memo.
The Barcelona superstar got married this weekend to his childhood sweetheart Antonela Roccuzzo in the city of Rosario, Argentina.
It was a lavish affair, by all accounts, but what caught social media’s attention was the smooch the pair exchanged to bring an end to the ceremony.
The beautiful bride leaned in for an appropriate peck on the lips but Messi misread the vibe entirely and opened his mouth as wide as he possibly could and made everyone feel very uncomfortable in the process.

If only Higuain had showed up, Messi wouldn't have bottled a kiss at his wedding party #TweetLikeACule pic.twitter.com/sjUHwBnIdN

Among the guests at the wedding were Messi’s club teammates Luis Suárez, Neymar and Gerard Piqué, who was in attendance with his wife, Shakira.
And once Twitter got a glimpse at the Argentina ace’s kissing method, the inevitable took place.
