Kit Harington’s ‘failed’ Game of Thrones auditions are hilarious

Paul Moore

You know nothing Jon Snow.

Over the course of six seasons, it’s entirely reasonable for Jon Snow to be – as Brienne said – ” a bit brooding, perhaps. I suppose that’s understandable, considering.”  As soon as we’re introduced to the current King in the North, we’re instantly told that he’s ‘the runt of the litter’ and a bastard that’s a source of shame for his adopted mother, Catelyn Stark.

In order to redeem himself, Jon takes the black and joins the Night’s Watch.

Yeah, an unbreakable vow to fight wildlings and White Walkers while shivering your ass off at The Wall really should have picked up his mood.

Let’s just skip past that whole mutiny, execution and resurrection stuff because you would be forgiven for thinking that Jon actually has something to be happy about now. After all, Ramsay Bolton has been vanquished and the banners of House Stark are once again flying over Winterfell.

What’s there left to worry about? Oh yeah, that thing.

While Kit Harington’s character in the show might be a wee bit on the brooding side, the same can’t be said for the actor because as we’ve seen before, he’s more than happy to take the mickey out of Jon’s persona.

The star of Spooks and Pompeii was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live and he happily showed off his ‘failed’ audition reel for some of the other Game of Thrones characters that he tried out for.

To quote Tormund, Jon Snow might be “prettier than both my daughters, but he knows how to fight. He’s young, but he knows how to lead.”

After seeing Harington’s take on Cersei, Arya, Ygritte (his own girlfriend) and Hodor, you won’t look at the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch in the same way.

Also, it’s very likely that his version of Daenerys will scar you for life in away that’s similar to the Red Wedding.

Take a look.
