Watch: Mohamed Salah scores first goal for Liverpool in preseason friendly at Wigan

He's already linking up with Coutinho and Firmino

Mohamed Salah has made a scoring start to his Liverpool career.

The Egyptian, a £34m signing from AS Roma earlier in the summer, marked his first appearance for the Reds by slotting home an equaliser in a preseason friendly at Wigan.

Trailing to a goal from the Latics’ Alex Gilbey, Salah levelled things up before half-time after Philippe Coutinho won the ball for Liverpool on the edge of Wigan’s final third. After playing countryman Roberto Firmino in, the ball was squared to the former Chelsea winger to tap home a simple finish.

As easy as they come.

As things stand, Salah is Liverpool’s only major signing this summer.

It does appear that Lucas Leiva’s time at the club could be coming to an end, however. The Brazilian, who joined from Gremio a decade ago, has been the subject of a £5m bid from Italian side, Lazio.

The 30-year-old will now have to agree personal terms and complete a medical before his move to Rome is finalised.
