Back in black?
Earlier this week, it was leaked that Newcastle United would have all black kit for the new season, to compliment their traditional black-and-white home shirt for their return to the big time in the Premier League.
Puma were roundly praised by the Geordie Nation for their sumptuous creation for the 2017/18 season. The two-tone noir effort was clearly a thing of beauty and would be complimented by gold trim to add another level of class.

The third kit is such an instant classic that it may well rival the home shirt for popularity and sales. But if leaked images of the away jersey are to be believed, it won’t do half as well as the other club uniforms. That’s because it looks like a rejected Manchester City effort. Or something Darius Vassell would’ve worn a decade ago.
Of course Newcastle are no strangers to a blue away kit, but it tends to be a midnight blue or deeper colour, for example this beauty from 1993/94:
Sadly this year’s vintage is a pale imitation in more ways than one. And as you can see below, the locals aren’t impressed:

Poor attempt for me. Home and third are good. Must try harder with this. Looks like a training to or one of them old Cabrini tops from JD..
