A returning character will feature.
Shall we begin?
As we saw, Daenerys is already plotting her bid to take back the Iron Throne from Cersei as Game of Thrones returned with a bang. Aside from Arya wiping out the entire remnants of House Frey and tension rising in both the Lannister and Stark Houses, it’s clear that winter is here because the White Walkers are on the move.
You can read our detailed recap here, but the focus has already moved on.
Despite Jon Snow’s best efforts to desperately try and unite the North against the undead, it appears that squabbling among Houses and the Iron Throne is still the main focus for most.
The plot synopsis for Stormborn reads as follows: “Daenerys receives an unexpected visitor. Jon faces a revolt. Tyrion plans the conquest of Westeros.”
Take a look at this trailer but keep reading though because we’re also going to break it down frame-by-frame for a few clues.
“A Targaryen cannot be trusted.”
Has Jon proposed a deeply unpopular alliance with House Targeryn? We know that he’s a firm believer in uniting as many living people against the Night King.
Then again, it’s possible that Jon has already received Sam’s raven about the supplies of dragon glass that are lying beneath Dragonstone. Is he plotting a course for Daenerys already?
Mmm, we think that he might want to bring Dany some proof that the White Walkers actually exist if he’s going to ask her for some precious dragon glass.
Cersei’s war council.
The Lannisters are preparing for war. Jesus, The Mountain even looks terrifying in a picture!
Team Dany.
That’s Varys, Grey Worm, Missandei , Tyrion, Daenerys, Yara Greyjoy, Theon Greyjoy and Elaria Sand in the one room.
Nymeria. NYMERIA LIVES!
Arya and her direwolf will be reunited…we hope!
Dorne will be Dorne.
That’s Yara and Elaria kissing.
Jon vs Littlefinger.
We knew that this tense scene was coming from the season trailer, but what are they arguing about?
That looks like the Winterfell crypts to us. Will Jon finally learn about his parentage? Maybe Lord Baelish said something to Sansa that the King in the North didn’t like?
We’re already pumped.
