Wednesday, July 19, 2017. A date that will surely go down in television history.
Maybe just history in general.
Why? Well, as viewers of ITV2’s Love Island will no doubt tell their grandchildren one day, this was the day they witnessed a grown man cry real tears over a baby. Not just any baby, a plastic baby. A plastic baby called ‘Cash Hughes’.
The grown man in question was Chris Hughes, who earlier in the episode had been assigned the role as the plastic baby’s father.
As soon became clear, Chris was taking his paternal responsibilities very seriously, and had already formed a close emotional bond with the baby-shaped piece of plastic.
