Who doesn’t love a good transfer saga?
Well, Virgil van Dijk has made sure that he will be the primary character in the most dramatic transfer of the summer.
The 26-year-old has impressed in the Premier League since moving to Southampton back in 2015, so much so that Liverpool are looking to splash out a cool £60m or so on the defender.
He is possibly worth it, few will doubt his credentials after seeing him play at St Mary’s.
Well, after Southampton reported Liverpool for allegedly tapping up their player, with the Anfield club publicly apologising, it looked as if the deal was off.
But now it looks as if it is back on after the latest news coming from the Southampton camp.
Sky Sports are reporting that the Dutch defender has been left out of Southampton’s pre season training squad.
It was first reported that he was left out of the squad a couple of days ago and Southampton have now confirmed that Van Dijk will not travel with the club on their preseason trip to France.
