It is only preseason, sure, but Liverpool fans will be thrilled with what they’re seeing.
On Tuesday night, Liverpool took on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Audi Cup and the Reds maintained their unbeaten preseason run with a victory over the German powerhouses.
Jurgen Klopp was visibly animated as his side counter-attacked again and again and went in at the break two goals to the good.
Klopp’s likely first-choice front three started the game, with Roberto Firmino flanked by Sadio Mane and summer signing Mohamed Salah.
And it didn’t take long for the latter pair to get in on the scoring act, with Mane netting the opener after just six minutes with a well-placed left-footed finish.

The Senegal international was involved in Liverpool’s second goal too as a supremely confident flick sent left back Alberto Moreno into space for a shot which was saved but parried directly into the path of the onrushing Salah.
The former Roma winger got his head to the ball and, all of a sudden, Liverpool were 2-0 up.

A much-changed side in the second half, Liverpool defended their lead and saw the game out although it appeared that Marko Grujić had found the net but the goal was disallowed for an offside call against Adam Lallana.
The midfielder was said to be interfering with play but fans didn’t have to wait long to see a third goal on the night as Daniel Sturridge, who made a cameo appearance of 20 minutes, dinked the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 3-0.

Ever since Salah put pen to paper on a move to Anfield last month, supporters knew that he and Mane would terrorise opposition offences with their explosive pace and Tuesday’s performance did nothing to dent that confidence.
