Barcelona are moving quickly in their bid to replace Neymar

Barca could be ready to part with half of of their Neymar money

Barcelona appear to be wasting little time in their bid to replace Neymar.

Not even 24 hours on from the confirmation of the Brazilian’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, it appears Barca could be set to part with a sizeable chunk of the world record fee they received for him.

Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele – a player that has been linked with a move to the Camp Nou almost as soon as reports of Neymar’s switch to Paris started doing the rounds – has reportedly already been in contact with Barcelona’s technical secretary, Robert Fernandez.

The 20-year-old only moved to Germany from Stade Rennes for £13.5m last year, but is expected to cost Barca around £100m, according to Mail Online.

The same report indicates that the Spanish club are unlikely to be put off by the price tag, although they do add that Dortmund may still be reluctant to sell. It suggests that Gerard Deulofeu, who has only returned to Barcelona this summer, might be offered to the the Bundesliga club to sweeten the deal.

The young winger has already been capped by France’s senior squad and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in European football. The fact that his wage packet is likely to be less than half of the one Neymar received while at Barca is also likely to appeal to the club’s board.

Keep your eye on this one.
