North Korea has promised “thousands-fold” revenge against the United States after the UN Security Council voted 15-0 in favour of new sanctions.
President Donald Trump had tweeted about the UN’s decision yesterday, writing: “Just completed call with President Moon of South Korea. Very happy and impressed with 15-0 United Nations vote on North Korea sanctions.”

The volatile North Korean regime responded on Sunday in a typically incendiary statement, which read: “It’s a wild idea to think the DPRK will be shaken and change its position due to this kind of new sanctions formulated by hostile forces.”
Kim Jong-Un, the North Korean leader, has promised an “action of justice” in response to the economic sanctions, though it is currently unclear what that means.
As it stands, experts are not entirely sure as to the extent of North Korea’s military capabilities, but their recent ICBM tests suggest that it could be possible for them to launch an attack on America’s west coast.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said that the US will be prepared to talk with North Korea on a diplomatic level once Kim Jong-Un proves that he is willing to put an end to his country’s military demonstrations and missile tests.
“The best signal that North Korea could give us that they are prepared to talk would be to stop these missile launches,” he said in a press briefing this weekend.
