Sky Sports have delved into the worlds of boxing and MMA for their commentary team for Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather.
If you’re watching the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather pay-per-view in this part of the world, you’re going to be treated to an interesting commentary duo.
While Showtime will be broadcasting the bout in the States, Sky Sports Boxing will be showing it to the masses this side of the Atlantic. The event will be available to purchase through Sky Sports Box Office starting from £19.95.
Former UFC welterweight and current UFC analyst Dan Hardy will be joined by four-time super middleweight champion boxer Carl Froch on the commentary team for the August 26 bout. Sky made the announcement during a conference call on Thursday.
While Froch is heavily favouring Mayweather, he does see certain factors that make this bout a very intriguing one.
"This is for the American people. This is for all the blacks around the world." https://t.co/26ZRftL7p4

Froch believes that it’s not just McGregor’s abilities inside the ring that are unknown. He thinks that the amount of time Mayweather has spent outside the ring makes this one interesting.
“You’ve got Mayweather who has been out of the ring for two years. It’s the element of the unknown, what’s he going to be like? It’s two massive stars from different sports coming together in what could potentially be a disaster.
“It could be a mismatch for McGregor, it could be a disaster for Mayweather if the two years out of the ring have really softened him. We just don’t know how he’s going to react or respond when he starts letting shots go.”
That being said, Froch is leaning heavily towards the undefeated pugilist against the man making his professional debut.
“I’m quite confident that Mayweather has still got it and got enough to beat McGregor. It’s a whole new discipline for him. Let’s be honest, he’s not a boxer.
“I think he’s really going to struggle. Regardless of what you think, the fight is massive.”
