Ronda Rousey is reportedly training for a career change

Would make sense

Ronda Rousey technically hasn’t retired from mixed martial arts just yet.

The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion remains placed at No. 4 in the current 135lbs rankings but it would be very surprising to see her take to the Octagon again.

After skyrocketing to the pinnacle of MMA, stopping all 12 of her opponents prior to UFC 193, Rousey experienced an unprecedented fall from grace as she was knocked out in consecutive bouts courtesy of Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.

‘Rowdy’ has been encouraged by many to hang up her gloves and it sounds like she’s going to do just that.

But Rousey looks set for a change of career, with reports that she is currently training in the hope of transferring her superstar status from the UFC to a fruitful spell in the WWE ring.

According to Fightful.com, Rousey has been referred “to current superstar Brian Kendrick for training purposes in Southern California.”

Rousey appeared at Wrestlemania 31 in 2015, when she showed off her Judo prowess against both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

The 30-year-old recently showed up at a taping of a preliminary match for the Mae Young Classic, in which close friend and fellow MMA star Shayna Baszler competed.

Legendary WWE commentator Jim Ross has insisted that there is no doubt in his mind that Rousey will prove a triumph in the realm of professional wrestling.

“It’s too great an opportunity for her to pass up and WWE to pass up. It’s a match made in heaven,” Ross told TMZ last week. “She’s gonna be a big star. It’s inevitable. I see her in a WrestleMania someday.”

The social media of Rousey’s fiancee, UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, hinted at a big announcement from Rousey on her new website, RondaRousey.com, when it goes live and judging by the reports, it could well be that she’s set to join the WWE roster.
