The last couple of years have shown us that Jamie Carragher and his old Liverpool teammate El Hadji Diouf aren’t the best of buds.
The former Senegalese international (officially) retired from playing football a couple of years ago, using the time since to embark on a new career of telling anyone who’ll listen to him that he doesn’t like Carragher. He’s called him a “fucking loser”, “useless” and, perhaps the most hurtful of all, “a turkey”. Ouch… ouch indeed.
Fortunately, the former Liverpool defender doesn’t appear to have been too upset by Diouf’s cutting remarks and has responded perfectly pretty much every time.
With the feud between the pair relatively quiet for a couple of months, Carra has now threatened to kick things off again with a lighthearted comment on an Instagram post from Steven Gerrard (another man to have been on the wrong end of some recent Diouf criticism).
Gerrard can be seen helping baby son Lio to kick a football in the video, which was posted on Sunday morning.
‘Better than Diouf already,’ Carragher commented.
Obviously, this comment is nothing more than a joke – a joke of which Diouf is almost certainly not going to see the funny side.
