Frank De Boer’s time as Crystal Palace boss was over almost as soon as it had started.
77 days on from taking the job at Selhurst Park, the Dutchman was out of a job, having overseen four straight Premier League defeats for the London club. In the week since his dismissal was confirmed, Palace have replaced De Boer with Roy Hodgson, who was powerless to prevent a fifth consecutive league defeat at home to Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
De Boer expressed his disappointment on Instagram at Palace’s decision to sack him. On Monday he followed this up with a post wishing his daughter well with her studies.
Jackie De Boer is, according to his latest post, set to study English for six months at Cambridge.
The inclusion of the hashtag ‘#longerthanherdaddy’ – a reference to his short-lived stint in England – has been picked up by plenty of those that have seen the post.

Behind the scenes information behind De Boer’s departure from Palace has since come to light, with claims that the Dutchman, who previously managed Ajax and Inter Milan, ‘immediately’ angered some of the senior Palace players.
