‘Masterpiece’ is a term already being used to describe it.
With one of the best directors around, arguably THE Hollywood star of his generation in the lead role and as a sequel to one of the most iconic movies of all time, it’s easy to understand why there’s such a sense of anticipation ahead of the release of Blade Runner 2049 early next month.
The jaw-dropping trailers have done absolutely nothing to quell that sense of anticipation and thankfully, judging by the early reviews, there’s nothing to suggest it won’t live up to expectations.
A select group of lucky critics got to see advance screenings of the movie on Tuesday and safe to say they were very much impressed, so much so that words like ‘breathtaking’ ‘stunning’ and ‘masterpiece’ were being thrown around like they were going out of fashion.

In case you’ve no idea what’s going on, Blade Runner 2049 takes place 30 years after the events of the original film and this time around, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos.
K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
Blade Runner 2049 is released in cinemas on Friday, October 6.
