Former champion wouldn’t back Floyd Mayweather in a street fight with Ronda Rousey (Video)

"She'd kick his ass"

When a former world champion boxer and world class trainer won’t back you in a fight, you might as well give it up.

The back-and-forth war of words has rumbled on between undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather and undisputed queen of MMA and UFC champion Ronda Rousey.

But one of boxing’s most respected trainers and former IBF Super Featherwight Champion Robert Garcia has stepped into the row…but surprisingly not on Mayweather’s side.

Garcia, who has trained champions including Kelly Pavlik, Antonio Margarito and Marco Antonio Rubio, doesn’t think 49-0 fighter Money would stand a chance against Rowdy on the streets.

“I think in a street fight she would kick Mayweather’s ass,” he said. “I think so. I wouldn’t want to fight her in a street fight.

“She can fight bro. She’s kicking some ass. Anybody that she fights, you could put her in against someone that really can fight and you won’t be able to do that with her. She destroys them.”

However, he did question the decision to make Rousey Fighter of the Year over pound-for-pound king Mayweather, who beat Manny Pacquiao in the so-called ‘Fight of the Century.”

“She’s got the right people,” he said. “Sometimes people get Trainer of the Year and you might think they don’t deserve it. It’s all politics man.

“It’s all who you know, who’s your agent, who’s doing that for you. That’s all that matters.

“With her she’s lucky to be beautiful and to be a badass fighter.”
