The show is due back next month.
Much like the inevitable changing of the seasons, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is returning for another season but given Ant McPartlin’s recent ill health – filming on the new series will have to wait until the talented broadcaster is fully recovered and ready to star in front of the camera again.
A move that we’re fully supportive of.
As you may know, the 41-year-old recently became addicted to painkillers after a botched knee operation and has been in rehab since June. His recovery is said to be going well.
If McPartlin is unable to head into the jungle, various reports have stated that Caroline Flack is being tipped as the preferred presenter to replace Ant.
When looking at things logically, Flack appears to be the best choice given the fact that she has presented the ITV2 spin-off show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here NOW for two years. (2009 until 2010)
Bookmaker Paddy Power has said: “Usually, Z-list celebrities are scrambling to appear on I’m A Celebrity as contestant – but now it seems like a top job might be available. Caroline might have copped a lot of Flack for her time fronting X Factor, but her experience on Love Island should have served her well for getting lucky Down Under.”
Here’s their list of favourites to potentially replace McPartlin on the show:
6/4 Caroline Flack
2/1 Holly Willoughby
5/2 Mark Wright
10/3 Scarlett Moffatt
10/1 Cat Deeley
10/1 Joel Dommett
10/1 Phil Schofield
10/1 Paddy McGuinness
Regardless of the direction that the new season of I’m a Celebrity takes, we wish Ant the best of luck in his recovery and we’re looking forward to seeing him happy, healthy and back on our screens.
