Finally, it seems all those stories about Neymar’s penalty spat with Edinson Cavani have subsided.

How do we know this? Because we’re back to seeing reports detailing his high-profile departure from Barcelona, that’s how.

The latest, which comes from Spanish outlet AS, claims the Brazilian was so pissed off at Barca for failing to honour a loyalty payment in his contract with the Camp Nou side, he asked Uefa to kick them out of the Champions League.

Neymar was allegedly set to pocket £23m from Barca, and the report claims his legal representatives advised him to take the extreme step against the club when it became clear they weren’t willing to cough up.

Uefa were (of course) quick to knock back Neymar’s alleged request, and he soon completed his world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
