We’ll be honest, we wouldn’t have automatically linked Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn with award-winning comedian Jessica Hynes, but then Celebrity Gogglebox is often about putting unlikely combinations together. Plus it’s all for a great cause in promoting Stand Up To Cancer, so it makes sense to spice things up a bit.
In fact, ‘spicing things up’ was a theme of the show, as the congregated channel surfers were shown an episode of Nigella Lawson’s latest cooking show. The celebrity foodie was preparing a recipe for ‘Turkish eggs’ involving a poached egg, Greek yoghurt, and Aleppo pepper. And very nice nice it looked too.

Corbyn had his own take, with a recipe for ‘coddled eggs’, which he explained to Hynes in great detail. Even the term ‘coddled eggs’ seemed to tickle the W1A star, and she started on a serious of innuendos about how Nigella would love a taste of Jeremy’s coddled eggs. The Labour leader was utterly obvious, which just made her crease even more…
