Reddit’s r/soccer subredit is a page where football fans from across the world come to chat, share links, and discuss matches in real time. Like the rest of Reddit, it is a good barometer of what people are talking about right now.
If people like one of your posts, they get ‘upvoted’. And Reddit user InsanityPlays has compiled the ten most upvoted goals ever on r/soccer into one list. And as you’d expect, there’s some absolute peaches in there.
They’re all from the last two years, and includes some big goals from important matches that you can probably guess. Topping the list is Mario Mandzukic’s bicycle kick from this year’s Cmapiaons League final, and Sergi Roberto’s strike in Barcelona’s incredible comeback against PSG.
Others are just on there because they are absolutely wonderful, such as Xherdan Shaqiri against Poland at Euro 2016, and Mesut Ozil’s masterful solo goal at Ludogorets. And because this is essentially a poll on the internet and you can’t keep Arsenal fans down, Olivier Giroud appears twice.
