David Moyes’ first game back in the Premier League didn’t exactly get off to the best of starts.
After just eleven minutes played at Vicarage Road, his West Ham side – beginning the game in 18th place in the table – found themselves a goal down to Watford.
Given the start that West Ham have made to the season (and the way in which the last four years have gone for their new manager), the fact that they fell behind might not have come as much of a surprise to many of those watching. The name of the scorer, however, did.
Former Derby player Will Hughes was responsible for the goal, finishing smartly when the ball fell to him in the area.

Hughes, still just 22, had long been linked with a move to the Premier League before he became Marco Silva’s first Watford signing in the summer. Despite this, he’s found his first team opportunities limited since making the move, only making his full league debut for the club in the recent 3-2 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.
In fact, as the reaction to his goal suggested, it seemed many football fans were completely unaware that Hughes had even made the move…

I forgot Will Hughes played football. A hugely talented player that was destined for big things but that hasn’t happened yet.
