This is going to be very interesting.
Producers for Celebrity Big Brother have announced that there will be a very surprising twist to this year’s lineup.
The show is returning to Channel 5 next month for its 21st season – yes, 21st! – and we’re already very eager to see who’ll be taking part.
However, this year, they’re going to be doing things a little differently.
Bosses have confirmed that the lineup for this year’s show is going to be made up of all women.
Yes, it’s going to be a female-only house and it’s all in honour of women’s right to vote.
“In January 2018, as the nation marks 100 years since women won the right to vote for the very first time, Celebrity Big Brother launches this series with an all-female cast of celebrity housemates in a salute to a centenary of women’s suffrage on Channel 5,” producers revealed today.
“Presented by Emma Willis, Celebrity Big Brother will initially explore how the all-female housemates interact, from politicians to performing artists, as they enter the house first, ahead of the celebrity male housemates.”
However, it won’t be all-ladies, all season, as producers say there will be men entering the house throughout the series.
“Over the course of the series, as the male counterparts enter the house, the housemates will take part in a series of entertaining tasks and hidden experiments which will test their – and our – assumptions, challenge gender stereotypes and reveal fascinating truths about what it is to be a woman – and man – in the 21st century,” producers added.
While there has been no reveal of who will be entering the house, and it is unlikely there will be one until the week leading up to the show, they did give hints to who might be moving in, saying “from politicians to performing artists”.
Rylan Clark-Neal’s return to the Celebrity Big Brother’s Big On the Side show has also been confirmed.
We’re already looking forward to this!
