It’s official.
Although there has been a lot of speculation about what date Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will choose for their wedding, the news has just been confirmed.
The couple will say their vows on May 19th which is a Saturday and their chosen date differs to previous royal weddings, many of which have taken place on a weekday.
Today, Kensington Palace announced the news following earlier confirmation that the wedding would take place in May at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine and William, opted for a Thursday (April 29, 2011), the Queen and Prince Philip also married on a Thursday (November 20, 1947) and Charles and Diana, parents to Harry and William, decided on a Wednesday (July 29, 1981).
His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018.

Meghan and Harry have made one public appearance since their engagement announcement with this taking place in Nottingham and it’s also thought that she met some of the Queen’s staff members at the annual Christmas party.
We don’t have to wait too long for the next sighting of the pair for they’re confirmed to join the royal family for Christmas Day festivities at the Queen’s private Norfolk residence, Sandringham.
