This could be very, very special.
As always, if you haven’t seen the most recent episode of Peaky Blinders, consider this to be your spoiler alert.
Again, look away now if you still have to catch up with the Season 4 finale.
Betrayal, drugs, booze, fights, blood, whiskey, murder, sex, gin, revenge, funerals, plots, lies, family, vendettas, blood, bullets and the beach. All things considered, that was a pretty memorable finale to Season 4 of Peaky Blinders!
While audiences are incredibly conflicted following the death of Alfie Solomons – we think it’s fair to assume that a bullet to the face is fatal! – that blow was softened by the official confirmation that the show will be returning for another Season in 2019.

In previous interviews, Steven Knight has been adamant about how he wants to end his gangster epic.
Speaking with the Radio Times, the Peaky Blinders creator has said that he thinks the show will end after Season 5. “Never say never, but we feel that [series] five may be the last. We don’t know for sure. We will see how we feel about it. Peaky is one of those things everybody loves, and the response has been so magnificent on both sides of the Atlantic”, he said.
Regarding a specific ending, the Peaky Blinders creator does have a definitive time frame in mind. Knight says: “I have got the end in my mind; whether that happens at the end of five is the question. I want it to end when the first air raid siren sounds in Birmingham. It is a story of a family between two world wars. It begins in 1919 when they have just come back from the war and the family’s journey is towards legitimacy and respectability and to leave their past behind. The big question of the whole series is this: is that possible?”
Well, it’s fitting that Knight mentioned the popularity of the Shelby family on the other side of the Atlantic because as we’ve seen throughout Season 4, Tommy has aspirations to make a fortune by exploiting Prohibition in the United States.
The Shelby Company has already started producing gin but more importantly, they’ve already lined up some ‘business partners’ in the US that will buy their product.
As we saw in the season finale, Tommy outsmarted Luca Changretta by making an arrangement with his rival gangs in New York. By eliminating Luca, it freed up the market for new gangs and criminals to take Changretta’s slice of ‘The Big Apple.’
One such man is the co-founder and boss of the Chicago Outfit, a Mr. Alphonse Gabriel Capone.
Yes, that’s right. In Season 5 of Peaky Blinders, there’s the very real possibility that Tommy with meet Al Capone – the infamous mobster, crime boss, and businessman who attained notoriety during the Prohibition era.
This little nugget of information drove Peaky Blinders fans wild.
This meeting needs to happen…by order of the Peaky Blinders!
