Don’t you just love the transfer window?
Remember that episode of Friends when it transpires that Ross and Will Colbert (Brad Pitt) were members of an ‘I hate Rachel’ club at school? Well it seems that Southampton and Barcelona fans have joined forces in an unlikely alliance against the good people of Liverpool Football Club.
Both Saints and Blaugranes are accusing the Anfield faithful of bare-faced hypocrisy for their attitude towards the potential transfer of Philippe Coutinho to the Camp Nou.
Apparently Liverpool supporters should ‘stop crying’ about Barca very publicly wooing and unsettling the Brazilian favourite, because they had no such qualms when their club were pursuing Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. As Michael Scott might say: ‘Well, well, well. How the turntables…’
As you can see from the comments below, rivals fans feel that Liverpool supporters are being massive hypocrites over Coutinho’s prospective sale. Most of the comments are from Barca fans. It would interesting to see how they reacted to Neymar leaving for PSG…
Liverpool FC are such hypocrites. They're fine with taking any meaningful talent they want from Southampton, but cry when a bigger club pursues one of their players. No big club are saints when it comes to transfers.

Says a Liverpool fan when his club did the same with van Dijk and Southampton.

Wow a Liverpool fan complaining about ethics after what they did with Southampton/VVD. Comical. If you honestly think there is any difference between Barca/Coutinho and Liverpool/VVD you have no objectivity.
