In case you hadn’t heard, Philippe Coutinho is a Barcelona player nowadays.
The Brazilian playmaker was confirmed as Barca’s latest signing at an unveiling ceremony on Monday after Liverpool accepted a fee of £142 million for the 25-year-old.
“I want to thank the president and everyone who has made it possible,” Coutinho said of the move.
“I am very happy, it’s a dream come true and I hope to be up to the job on the field.”
And after splashing the cash to get their top target, the Catalan club is keen to keep hold of Coutinho as they’ve reportedly inserted a whopping release clause of £355 million in his contract at the Camp Nou.
That figure, amazingly, is only the tenth highest in world football.
