A few months ago, we brought you the delicious news regarding those 20 chippers that were nominated for the award of the UK’s finest fish and chip shop.
Following rigorous judging, that tasty list has been whittled down and the winner of the Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award has just been announced.
Millers Fish & Chips in Haxby, York, has bagged the prestigious accolade as part of the 30th anniversary of the National Fish & Chip Awards.
In case you’re wondering, the judging criteria include the following; menu development and innovation, sustainable sourcing policies, staff training processes, marketing activity and most importantly, taste.
Burton Road Chippy in Lincoln bagged second place, followed by Harbourside Fish & Chips, Plymouth, which came third.
