ITV’s Survival of the Fittest, billed as a winter version of hit reality show Love Island, arrives soon.

The programme will put boys and girls up against one another in a series of challenges but also promises viewers plenty of romance as contestant are sent on dates to test their loyalties to their teams.

Filmed in South Africa, the show’s winner will receive a big cash prize, plus enough exposure to ensure they’ll be kept in Instagram promotion deals for years to come.

Among those taking part are Dani Mas Dyer, a barmaid and daughter of Danny, AKA EastEnders’ Mick Carter.

The 21-year-old reckons she’ll be well able for the competition.

“I’m a positive person and I think very positively. I am very competitive as well. I am very determined so that will be my secret weapon,” she told the Sun.

Despite whatever the show has in store, she says her dad Danny is getting behind her.

“When I first told him, like any dad, he had his protective hat on and said, ‘Don’t do anything silly.’ Now he is getting it and he said ‘It feels real now and I’m so proud of you.'”

Laura Whitmore is on board to present Survival of the Fittest and among the other contestants will be 24-year-old James Middleton, a sports media manager and ex-boyfriend of Made In Chelsea’s Toff.

“I am open to love, definitely,” he said of taking part.

“I don’t think any guy if they see a nice looking girl who they get on with and vice-versa is going to turn it down, despite the circumstances.

“That said, they will be the enemy so I’ll have to tread carefully.”
