Pearl Jam are back with “Can’t Deny Me”, their first new song in five years

Will Lavin

Pearl Jam are back so all is well with the world once again.

Releasing their first new track in five years, Pearl Jam share “Can’t Deny Me”, a short but sweet track taken from their forthcoming yet-to-be-titled new album.

Co-produced by the band and Brendan O’Brien, “Can’t Deny Me” marks Pearl Jam’s first new music since their Grammy Award-winning 2013 album, Lightning Bolt.

Recorded in Seattle in February of this year, the music was written by Mike McCready and lyrics by Eddie Vedder. The single’s artwork was created by Jeff Ament and Kevin Shuss.

2018 is a big year for Pearl Jam, it marks 27 years of the band performing live. 10 studio albums, hundreds of unique live performances and official live concert bootleg releases later, they continue to be critically acclaimed and commercially successful – with over 85 million albums sold worldwide and a 2017 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to boot.

Armed with that knowledge you know if you haven’t yet seen Pearl Jam perform live then you need to. This summer they embark on a full European arena tour, including two UK dates below at the O2 Arena, although they’re sold out (you’ve got to get in there quick).
