Lidl are doing Lidl things again.
Everyone’s favourite discount German supermarket Lidl (Aldi who?) are doing that thing they do again, that thing where they have something ridiculously tasty in a ridiculously large quantity and they then decide to sell it for a ridiculously low price. This time it’s with a steak. A 1.1kg Deluxe Cowboy Steak, to be exact.
And it is ridiculous, quite frankly. It looks like it has come off a dinosaur or something.
The cut only costs you £14.99 per kg, compared to the £22 it would likely set you back in a local butcher. A cowboy steak, for the uninitiated, is a ribeye with a short frenched bone, and Lidl claim they are the first supermarket to sell the cut. The joint is dry aged on the bone for two weeks and then further matured for a full 21 days until the flavour and tenderness of the meat is just right.
The steak will be available in stores from Thursday (March 29th), and will only be available whilst stocks last.
Yeah, I don’t think they’ll be around for too long.
