After much speculation, the worst kept secret in recent film history has officially been confirmed, get set for Adonis Creed vs Viktor Drago (Florian “The Big Nasty” Munteanu)
As per the official synopsis: “Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family.”
After seeing Florian “The Big Nasty” Munteanu in action, Adonis better start hitting those bags hard.
Deadline has also reported that Russell Hornsby will be part of the cast and he’s going to join Tessa Thompson (Bianca), Phylicia Rashad (Mary Anne), Wood Harris (Tony ‘Little Duke’ Burton), and Andre Ward (Danny ‘Stuntman’ Wheeler).
Filming has already started on the film and Stallone has said that it’s exceeding his “wildest dreams.” Can it be as good as the first film? We’ll know when Adonis steps back into the ring on 21 November.
Mmm, we reckon there might also be a scene where Ivan Drago and Rocky spar. After all, we don’t expect them to go 12 rounds!
