Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0 on Wednesday night in the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane scored the goals as Jurgen Klopp’s side produced a surprise result and took control of the tie, setting themselves up for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
However, it won’t just be the action on the field that people will be talking about in the days to come. Liverpool apologised in a statement after City’s bus was hit with missiles ahead of the Champions League tie.
There was a large crowd waiting for City upon arrival at Anfield. Unfortunately, some Liverpool supporters threw missiles at the visiting team’s bus, which was carrying the playing and coaching staff, as they entered the ground.
No-one was hurt during the incident, but the bus was damaged and City needed another vehicle to take them back to Manchester.

When asked about the incident in his post-match press c0nference, Pep Guardiola said:
“We didn’t expect that to happen, we came here to play football. The bus is destroyed. We didn’t expect that from a club of this prestige”

He also said his team started well in the game but lost control for a period when Liverpool scored their goals.
Guardiola: "We showed up, in the beginning of the game we were there. We arrived with huge personality. Except 10-15 mins in the 1st half when we lost a little control, from my point of view we did really well. Problem in CL, when you concede twice from two shots it's tough."

Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, tried to play down any talk that his side have one foot in the semi-finals.
Klopp: "No one was dancing around in the changing room after the game… it's only half-time. Maybe can use the score to our advantage."
