To begin with, it’s great to see Kevin Smith in good health after his recent health scare because, for film fans of a certain age, Silent Bob’s films defined what it’s like to be a teenager.

As stated previously, you can base your entire life around the teachings of Dante and Randal from Clerks and while our favourite Quick Stop employees are heroes, Jay and Silent Bob just seem like they’re having much more fun when they’re “schmokin weed, schmokin’ weed, doin’ coke, drinkin’ beers…”

It also helps that they were fricking funny in Chasing Amy and Dogma too.

After stumbling across a rogue monkey and preventing Hollywood from making a film that’s based on their lives in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, our favourite slackers returned for Clerks 2 where Jay, erm, went full Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. Yeah, it got weird and that’s before we even mention the donkey show.

There’s some good news though because not even the vindictive mall cop LaFours from Mallrats could stop the duo from reuniting. It was rumoured before but it’s actually happening.

Fans will be delighted to know that Jay and Silent Bob will to return in a virtual reality (VR) series.

Jay and Silent Bob VR is going to be a live-action comedy series that’s written and directed by Smith, according to an announcement by STX Entertainment.

It will launch on the Surreal channel, an app for VR headsets which will be available in mid-2018. The show will be shot from the point of view of Silent Bob, played by Smith, as he follows Jason Mewes’ Jay “through a string of idiotic adventures”.

Smith himself will direct, write and produce the series and will reunite with Jason Mewes for the show, though a release date is yet to be confirmed.

Snoogens.
