It’s going to be a big night for Santan Dave.
The shortlist for the 2018 Ivor Novello Awards were announced today and the youngest artist nominated on this year’s list is rapper Dave.
Nominated for Best Contemporary Song, for his politically charged single “Question Time”, which was taken from his 2017 EP Game Over, it’s Dave’s first ever Ivor Novello nomination.
Addressing social issues such as NHS budget cuts and Grenfell Tower, “Question Time” is nominated alongside CamelPhat & Elderbrooks’s “Cola” and Stormzy’s “Don’t Cry For Me”, featuring Raleigh Ritchie.
The 63rd Ivor Novello Awards, which rewards groundbreaking songwriting, are set to take place at London’s Grosvenor House on Thursday May 31st. This nomination comes hot on the heels of Dave’s recent British Breakthrough Act nomination at this year’s Brit Awards, not to mention winning Best Newcomer at 2017’s MOBO Awards.
