James Oliver claims to be from 6491
It feels like we haven’t had a guy claiming to be a time traveller for a while. At the beginning of the year, it seemed like you couldn’t move for guys claiming to be from 2525, offering up ominous warnings about the future. We were kind of cynical at the time, and we stand by that – not a single one of them mentioned that Arsene Wenger wouldn’t be Arsenal manager at the start of the 2018/19 Premier League season.
After a bit of a dry spell, however, we’ve got another one for you. Well, we’ve actually met James Oliver before. As well as sharing his name with a popular TV chef, Oliver claims to be from the year 6491, and stuck in 2018. In a previous video, he warned us that the volcanic caldera in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, will erupt. Which, to be honest, wasn’t the most bold of predictions, as that volcano has been erupting for millions of years, and will probably do so again.

Now he’s back though, and he’s taken a lie detector test, on camera. And he passed it! Of course, there is a reason lie detector evidence is not used by law enforcement in many countries, because science still says they are far from 100% accurate. But still – let’s take a listen to what he actually says:
“Your years are different to mine. Where I’m from, the years are longer. My planet is further away from the sun than yours is, so it takes longer to get around. But we have gifted mathematicians who work to calculate our years from those from other civilisations.”
So he implies he might not be of this earth, or at least a human who was born on a planet we will eventually colonise.
And he expands on this:
“We are constantly finding new planets and galaxies every day. Most of it is just nothing. Sometimes you hit the jackpot and find intelligent life on it. You find new planets, new eco systems. There are a lot of planets more intelligent than humans.”
He also says he’s BFFs with some aliens.
“I have personal relationships with a few of them, I have friends I’d consider aliens. They are a nice lot, they are. Don’t be quick to judge. I have some who are quite good friends. My closest friend is from another galaxy.”
He goes on to say that there’s a UN-style union of planets governed by elected officials, but with some autonomy. Can’t wait for Earth-xit, then.
He also warns us about global warming getting worse, and says there have been some intergalactic scuffles with other planets. He refuses to give the names of any future US presidents though, because of course, that’s against the rules.
Of course it is.
