Two days in and Love Island’s already in full swing meaning lots of chat about people’s chat, a number of blossoming reality-TV-constructed romances, and some complete and utter savagery from Adam, a 22-year-old who is already more of a grown man than you will ever, ever be.
But probably the most striking part of last night’s episode came when I’m-into-spirituality-and-been-to-like-Tibet-and-I’m-more-than-just-a-model-y’know-I-feel-things-and-I’m-deep-and-stuff-…-so-anyway-you-wanna-bang-lol wokenist Eyal appeared to become sentient for a moment. Only to be cruelly shot down.

After Adam’s decision to destroy Niall’s (one-day reality TV constructed) romance, Hayley remarked to Eyal: “You saw what can happen in a day, by the time we recouple things could have changed.”
“It’s mad…. This is a game,” Eyal said. “Is it a game?” Hayley asked. “I thought you didn’t have a game plan?”
Eyal responded: “I don’t have a game plan but this whole thing is made to be a game.”
But, Hayley hit back: “It’s not a game, it’s only a game if you want it to be a game.”
By which she meant: “IT’S NOT A GAME EYAL. ARE YOU SAYING THIS TV SHOW WHICH WE HAVE BEEN FLOWN OUT TO IN ORDER TO COMPETE TO WIN A CASH PRIZE IS A GAME? WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING TRYING TO DECONSTRUCT THIS REALITY? WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKING BETWEEN SCENES? STAY IN YOUR BOX EYAL. STAY IN YOUR FUCKING BOX. THIS GAMESHOW IS 100 PERCENT, CERTIFIABLY NOT A GAME.”
But, anyway, what do we know about Eyal beyond the Truman Show-esque reality he is currently living in? Well, it turns out that in the outside world beyond the game/not game is currently part of, he previous dated series two contestant Tina Stinnes.
Writing in a column in New! Magazine, fellow series-two contestant Olivia Buckland said: “I don’t actually know any of them except Eyal Booker – Tina Stinnes dated him not long after we came out of the villa.
“He’s also the brother of someone I work with at W7 make-up. I’ve never met him, but from what I know, he got on well with Tina.”
Fascinating. Apparently they split up a while back though, so he is legitimately single
