When naming English players in MLS, a few roll off the tongue more than others.
Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are obviously the big two, while the likes of Shaun and Bradley Wright-Phillips will also be familiar to Premier League fans.
But what about Luke Mulholland? Until now, he was probably most famous for being the guy that slammed into a goalpost.
That’s changed, though, with the Preston-born Real Salt Lake midfielder firing home this Goal of the Week contender from range.

Mulholland took a circuitous route into professional football, leaving the UK to play the game at college level with Wingate University in North Carolina.
He’s now into his second season with Real Salt Lake, playing alongside American international and World Cup cult hero Kyle Beckerman.
The long-range winner against Colorado was his third goal of the season and helped keep RSL in the hunt for the end-of-season playoffs.
