If you’ve got a Liverpool fan in your life, you can expect to see them going around grinning like Steven Gerrard after scoring a Merseyside derby winner as news of the club’s next manager is expected to be confirmed.

Jurgen Klopp is, by all accounts, set to be unveiled as the Reds’ next boss in the next 24 hours. One German newspaper believes it has sourced some key details of his contract with the club.

The German coach has been out of work since leaving Borussia Dortmund in the summertime, and Bild are reporting that the former Mainz coach will earn in the region €10m in is new contract.

However there could be a major stumbling block in the form of two of Brendan Rodgers’ last signings at the club.

Gary McAllister and Sean O’Driscoll both took up coaching roles in the summer with the club and, according to Bild, Anfield chiefs want Klopp to work with both men instead of his own technical staff.

The former Dortmund manager was hoping to install his own staff in the shape of Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz but it’s believed that FSG are hoping the German can work with the Scot and the Irishman instead of his previous staff.

It seems Klopp has also demanded that if he does become the new Liverpool manager then he will not work under the transfer committee.

Michael Zorc is the man who did much of the transfer dealing at Dortmund, but Klopp is demanding that he alone will be the man in charge of transfers.
