Christian Benteke was pretty happy on Monday night
Or at least the fella tasked with running his Twitter account was.
Benteke was originally named in the first edition of Belgium’s World Cup squad by Roberto Martinez, only to be dropped for the final cut.
As a result, the Crystal Palace has been forced to watch the action from afar. Presumably, this was the case as his countrymen booked their spot in the quarter finals with a thrilling comeback against Japan.

Headers from Jan Vertonghen and Marouane Fellaini drew them level, before s stunning break allowed Nacer Chadli to slide home the winner with the last kick of the game.
A brilliant finale to an incredible 45 minutes.
Belgium’s reward is a quarter-final against Brazil – the subject of the tweet Benteke fired out after full-time.
Using two pictures of his former Liverpool teammate, Philippe Coutinho, Benteke’s tweet implied Brazil would have been disappointed to see Belgium’s comeback.
